bespoke detached home, walton-on-thames

Flora House Exterior_008.jpg

a grand one-off family home in walton-on-thames, delivered for our developer client alexander james contracts (ajc). they came to us with a clear vision and a need to move quickly. our job was to turn it into a buildable, high-quality house without letting cost or programme slip.

we pushed design changes through planning, cleared conditions fast and produced a fully coordinated technical package. then we designed the interiors through to the last detail. the completed house has the look and feel of a premium home, achieved through careful design rather than expensive materials.

quality comes from design, not from the price list.

a home doesn't need costly materials to feel exceptional. proportion, light, alignment and well-considered detail do most of the work. designing those in from the start is how we give developers a product that sells on quality while protecting their margin.

interiors that add value

colony interiors carried the design through to joinery, lighting and finishes. each choice was made to give the look and feel of a high-end home using sensibly priced materials, detailed well.

02

one coordinated model

the technical design was produced in revit (3d building information modelling software), so architect, mrp engineering and ajc all worked from one shared model. clashes were resolved on screen rather than on site, saving time and cost during the build.

01

quick to site

our client needed to start fast. we took design changes back through planning and cleared the planning conditions (requirements that must be signed off before or during building) promptly, so ajc could get on site without the months of delay that often follow consent.
