smash padel, multiple locations

Flora House Exterior_008.jpg

padel is one of the fastest-growing sports in the uk, but many people, including planners, have never seen a court. smash padel appointed us in 2023 to bring new courts to communities around the country, often on land shared with existing sports clubs and venues.

we handle each site from first sketch to technical delivery: finding the right fit on a host venue, preparing the planning case with bva planning, producing visualisations that show exactly what's proposed, and taking the design through to construction. centres in cardiff, bicester and whitstable are now open.

new sports need new places to play.

a sport can only grow as fast as its facilities. by partnering with venues that already have space, parking and a sporting community, new courts can open quickly and bring fresh life to the clubs around them.

courts in a listed park

in cardiff, the new courts sit within llandaff fields, a listed historic park. the design had to respect the park's heritage setting while delivering a modern sports facility, bringing our heritage experience into a completely different kind of project.

02

partnering with venues

sites are found by working with existing sports clubs and leisure venues, sharing their facilities and bringing new visitors and income to the host.

01

showing, not telling

because padel is still unfamiliar, visualisations were key to every planning application. clear images of the courts, canopies and lighting helped planners and neighbours understand exactly what would be built.
