DESIGN, PLANNING

Colony was asked to provide a feasibility study for a complex site in Reading town centre to test the commercial viability of the site. Following a series of sketch proposals, the client was confident to proceed with development investment and various planning steps were initiated. The design was adapted and developed through a series of stages to the current proposal of 46 units, mixing 1, 2, and 3bed units. It was important to the client to give high quality public space and amenity space for all residents, which were established as the crucial framework for all design proposals. The existing structure of a multi-storey carpark had to be retained, which provided technical difficulty and required creative technical solutions.

“great work!”
